The Greenery was awarded the Grand Award in the 2012 Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET). The landscape company won the program's highest national award for its commitment to environmental stewardship at Palmetto Bluff.

PLANET's Environmental Improvement Awards Program reflects the program's commitment to creating and preserving the beauty of natural landscape. The program is designed to reward landscape and lawncare professionals who execute superior projects.

"It's such an honor for The Greenery to be awarded at this high level. This award is a great example of our employees' strong work ethic and pride they take in their jobs, as well as the great partnership with all of the people we work with at Palmetto Bluff," said Lee Edwards, CEO of The Greenery.

The Greenery has been the landscape company for Palmetto Bluff since the community was first developed in 2000. The crew addresses all landscaping and irrigation maintenance needs of the resort and neighborhood. The Greenery makes an effort to be environmentally minded in the maintenance of the land, performing many tasks by hand to create a natural look without being intrusive to residents and visitors.

"At Palmetto Bluff, we pride ourselves on land conservation. The Greenery's professional staff maintains our landscape while keeping the natural appeal of the Bluff's breathtaking views," said Dallas Wood, the land development manager for Palmetto Bluff.

This hard work and dedication by The Greenery's employees provides the guests and residents of Palmetto Bluff an ideal location to enjoy the amenities and beauty of the land.

Edwards recognized Miles Graves, Keith Sheeley, Ronald Vargas, Clay Kindard and other crew members for helping make a difference in Palmetto Bluff.

The Greenery was established in 1973 and serves the communities of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort, Hardeeville, Savannah and Charleston. The Greenery provides residential and commercial landscape installation and maintenance, hardscapes and irrigation. The company also operates a retail garden center and an antique gift store on Hilton Head Island.

PLANET strives to increase public awareness of environmental improvement through contracted landscaping, lawn care, and interior plantscaping and encourages the consistent use of quality materials and workmanship.
