Evidence from golf-course fire sent to lab

Evidence from a suspicious fire that destroyed a golf-cart shed at a Hilton Head Island golf club Monday will undergo arson testing at the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office lab.

The lab will test for accelerants to determine whether the blaze, which destroyed 52 golf carts at the Bear Creek course in Hilton Head Plantation, was intentionally set, Sgt. Robin McIntosh said.
