No arrests were made after a midday shooting Monday on Hilton Head Island, in which a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg.

The injured man and two other men who tried to flee in a car have given conflicting statements about the shooting at The Oaks, according to Beaufort County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sgt. Robin McIntosh. Evidence collected at the scene also contradicts their accounts, McIntosh said.
