Residents of the Islands of Beaufort held their annual charity auction to raise money for holiday-season donations.
More than $1,700 was raised and evenly divided in donations to Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse and HELP of Beaufort, according to a news release.

The auction was hosted by Catherine and David Stewart of the Islands of Beaufort. Residents bid on items as varied as a two-night stay at the Beaufort Holiday Inn and lessons in conversational French.

"Residents of our community are pleased to support our local charities, and many of our neighbors also volunteer throughout the year to lend a helping hand to our local benevolent organizations." Catherine Stewart said in the release.

Stewart is a CODA board member.
