Preston Suber finished with 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists to lead Beaufort Academy (2-0). Finn Koppernaes added 14 points, seven rebounds and five steals, and Conner Akers had 11 points.

Tanner Crosby scored 19 points to lead Colleton Prep (0-1).

Beaufort Academy hosts Hilton Head Christian Academy on Tuesday.

Colleton Prep 42, Beaufort Academy 40: The visitors stormed back from a late deficit to edge the Eagles, who got 27 points from Miranda Weslake.

Beaufort Academy, which led by eight in the fourth quarter, committed 20 turnovers and went 5 for 13 at the free-throw line.

The Eagles (1-1) next host Hilton Head Christian on Tuesday.
