Authorities found a St. Helena Island man with multiple gunshot wounds Monday night.
Beaufort County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at a home on Sea Island Parkway at about 8 p.m., according to a news release. They discovered a 22-year-old man injured on the ground outside the home.
He had been shot in both arms and the right leg, according to the report. The report listed the suspect as a black male wearing black clothing, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds.
The victim refused to tell deputies his name or how he was injured, according to the release.
Witnesses said they heard several shots and saw the victim running, but no one could provide a description of the suspect, according to the release.
The victim was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
