Firefighter John Kautter checks Thursday on a cooker filled with Boston butts that will go on sale today. The Bluffton Township Fire District will hold its seventh annual Boston Butts Fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Katie O'Donald's in Kittie's Crossing. In addition to selling $7 barbecue sandwich platters, which include baked beans and coleslaw, the district will sell the pork by the quart. Full butts will also likely be available. The event benefits Bluffton 7-year-old Leo Vannoni, who is suffering from leukemia, and Bluffton Self Help. About 320 Boston butts are expected to be sold.
