Seahawks boys, girls finish second at state cross country meet

It was Hilton Head Island's day to be No. 2.

The Seahawks' boys and girls cross country teams finished second at the state Class 3-A meet on Saturday at the Sandhills Research Center in Columbia.

The boys team was second to Daniel, 34-52, while the girls team finished behind James Island, 72-83.

Hilton Head Island was led by Jack Manesiotis and Faith Lifer, who finished second in the boys and girls divisions, respectively.

For the boys, Colton Hennessey and Sean McMahon finished fourth and sixth, respectively, to join Manesiotis in all-state honors. For the girls, Carley McGlinn finished seventh, to join Lifer on the all-state team.

In Class 4-A, the Bluffton boys finished 14th, while the girls finished 18th.

In Class 2-A, the Battery Creek boys finished 13th, while the girls were 18th.
