Bluffton's road through the Class 4-A Division II playoffs will be a tough one.

The Bobcats (10-1), who lost 31-22 at Summerville on Friday night, drew a No. 9 seed and will travel Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game at No. 8 seed South Florence.

Bluffton head coach Ken Cribb was head coach of the Bruins from 2001 through 2005. Cribb's former defensive coordinator David Prince is now the head coach.

The Bruins (7-4) finished third in Region 6-AAAA.

The game will be held on Thursday because South Florence and West Florence share a stadium and West Florence is hosting a playoff game Friday.

"I don't like that. Never did like that. I wasn't really happy about that there, either," Cribb said. "You don't have your walkthrough after your three days, but that's not that big a deal really. But I'd like to have another day of rest and recovery, to be honest."

Cribb didn't expect to be making a trip to his old stomping grounds.

"It was a little bit (of a surprise)," Cribb said. "I didn't expect Conway to lose to Carolina Forest. But I knew that possibility was there."

As if a road playoff game isn't challenging enough, if the Bobcats should win, they'll face the winner of the matchup between Conway and No. 1 and top-seeded Goose Creek.

"That's the way it is," Cribb said.
