Security should be president's top priority

When I read some of the letters sent to the newspaper, I wonder what country some of these people are living in. It's not the same one I am.

The terrible economy not withstanding, does anyone get what has gone on with this administration and the horrifying debacle in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11? Instead of focusing on such inane things as Mitt Romney's dog on the car roof, a haircut given a classmate in high school, his holding a pro-Vietnam War sign (the sign is pro-draft, not pro-war), and the 47 percent statement (taken out of context), perhaps we should focus on the "true character" shown by President Barack Obama in this Benghazi situation.

Our consulate was attacked, and four Americans were brutally murdered, and what do we get? Blaming it on a ridiculous video, even after it was known almost immediately, from sworn statements before Congress and video taken during the attack, that it was always terrorism. And still Obama, when asked about it, continues to say, "We are checking the facts."

Will we find out his true part in this after the election? His actions show such a lack of honesty, integrity, decency and competence, it is breathtaking. With situations in the world what they are now, how can this man be trusted to keep America safe? That's what's important.
