A 27-year-old Ridgeland man died after being shot multiple times at his home at 371 Pecan Grove Lane at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses reported hearing shots, and emergency responders arrived to find Calvin Jermiane Washington dead, according to Deputy Chief Roy Hughes.

Washington was also known as Calvin Donell Stevenson before February 2009, according to court records.

Washington wasn't the only person at the home when police arrived, Hughes said.

No suspects have been arrested.

Hughes couldn't provide more details because the State Law Enforcement Division is leading the investigation. Attempts Thursday to reach SLED were unsuccessful.
