Bluffton finished third Tuesday at the Class 4-A Girls Golf Championship at The Country Club of Lexington.
The Bobcats, 58-5 this season, finished behind runaway winner Lexington and Spartanburg with a two-day total of 671, 64 shots off the lead..
"It was really tough," Bluffton coach David Crosby said. "The first day was 35 mph winds with 40 mph gusts. It was awful. Today was probably 25 to 30 mph winds and cold."
Crosby said the Bobcats knew Lexington was likely out of their reach and had set their sights on second but came up short.
" For moving to 4-A, I don't think we can really complain," Crosby said. "Our goal was second place, really. We fought hard.
Brandi Hammonds finished fifth to earn All-State honors, which are bestowed upon the top 10 individuals.
"It's a high honor to finish fifth out of a field of those players," Crosby said. "We had a great season. I had no complaints. I have a very good team."
