Recreation Briefs, Oct. 24: Port Royal Bulldogs finish perfect football season

The Port Royal Bulldogs, a football team of 9- and 10-year-olds, capped off a perfect 9-0 season Monday night at Burton Wells Park by defeating the Burton Raiders 19-0 in the Beaufort County championship game.

The Bulldogs, who had 13 players chosen to the Beaufort County All-Star Team, outscored their opponents 217-0 this season.

All-star selections for the Bulldogs are: Dawson Coleman, Dade Stanley, Stefan Wechsler, William Winburn, Lukas Kinsey, Carter Payne, Thomas Smith, Henry Manley, JaHead Senior, James Dagin, Jonathan Field, Christian Andrade and Logan Adkins. Other members of the Bulldogs were: Ty Brown, Kendrick Williams, Kenneth Williams, Robert Self, Amire Henderson, Bryce Hage, George Cooler and Logan Siegner.

The team was coached by William Kinsey, Robbie Kinsey, Scott Medeiros and Tommy Winburn.


The recently formed Hilton Head Plantation Softball Club is seeking clubs or organizations for game competition.

The HHP Club is comprised of men and women over 55 years of age with softball ability ranging from beginner to intermediate. The club plays according to the guidelines of the Senior Slow Pitch Softball Association: no contact or sliding, designated runners, and other features to maximize player safety and fun.
