Memory Matters thanks Bargain Box for grant

info@islandpacket.comOctober 22, 2012

On behalf of the families we serve, our staff and board of directors, I would like to thank The Bargain Box for awarding Memory Matters with a grant to support our scholarship program.

With the help of these funds, we are able to provide free care to low-income families who desperately need help. The need for high quality, compassionate dementia care is substantial. Many families are struggling and the economy still has not recovered.

We are grateful to the volunteers at The Bargain Box who put in countless hours to raise money for local charities. And we feel blessed by those who support The Bargain Box with both donations and their purchases. It truly is an ingenious plan to recycle gently used items to raise money for charity. It is labor-intensive, but done with love, compassion and civic pride.

Memory Matters is a local nonprofit organization that offers dementia-specific day care, support and resources for caregivers, as well as education and advocacy for the community. Call 843-842-6688 or visit www.memorymatters.org.
