Hilton Head Humane thanks area salons

We would like to extend a big thank you to Tara's Salon, Salon Artistry and Groomingdales for the first Cut-A-Thon to benefit Hilton Head Humane Association's feral cat program, held Oct. 13 at Tara's Salon.

Seven stylists offered their expertise with haircuts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations went to the feral cat program. Groomingdales provided ear cleaning and nail trimming for all of the four-legged participants. The chairs and tables were always full, and the day was very, very successful.

The Humane Association's staff and volunteers were on hand to provide information and sign up for the free feral cat program. Kittens also were available for adoption.

Door prizes and food rounded out the event, and the weather allowed for a wonderful day all around.

We are very grateful to all who helped and participated and are already planning next year's Cut-A-Thon. Hope to see you there.
