Recent letters to the editor are so totally absurd that panic by their authors can be the only reason for their ludicrous content.
It is typical of Democrats. Attempting to slander, discredit and hopefully misrepresent their Republican opponents is the only tactic they have left because the Obama administration has absolutely nothing they can point to in terms of accomplishment.
Mitt Romney at least supported the Vietnam War, instead of actively opposing it, like Robert Kennedy and Bill Clinton. That resulted directly and indirectly in the loss of many American lives. A recent writer, of course, does not know or give the reason any of the Romneys did not serve. Perhaps he could elaborate on the great military record of President Barack Obama or Clinton or Jimmy Carter, whose first official act after being sworn in was to pardon all the cowards who fled to Canada to avoid the draft during the Vietnam War. That war was started during a Democratic administration with a much less legitimate reason than President George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq. But that little conflict cost more than 55,000 lives, whereas Iraq cost far less than one-tenth that number. Where is the outrage over that?
Romney's remarks do not and never were intended in any manner to include those serving in the military, or the veterans who have served. Tell us about how Obama supports the military and our country's defense posture. Sorry, I don't hear you.
