The Hilton Head Prep girls tennis team advanced to the SCISAA Class 3-A final after defeating Ashley Hall 5-1 on Friday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter.
Prep took 5 of the 6 singles matches. The Dolphins' only loss came at No. 1 singles, where Prep's Allie Burak, who is dealing with ligament problems in her foot and was heavily taped, took the No. 1 player in the state, Narni Summerall, to a 10-point deciding tie-break, only to lose 10-8.
Prep will face the winner of Friday's match between Pinewood Prep and defending state champion Porter-Gaud at 10 this morning for the state championship.

VOLLEYBALL
SCISAA Classs 3-A playoffs: Hilton Head Prep (11-9) defeated Pinewood Prep 2-1, winning 25-18 in a third and decisive set, and will face Wilson Hall (16-7) at 12:30 p.m. today in the Lower State bracket of the SCISAA Class 3-A state volleyball tournament at the Sumter County Civic Center.
The Dolphins defeated Heathwood Hall 2-0 and lost to Hammond 2-1 before beating Pinewood Prep.
