More than two decades have passed, and Jason Frazier still has people from Hilton Head Island approaching him to talk about that fateful day in 1990.

The Hilton Head Island High School football team, led by Frazier at quarterback, had made it to the Class 3-A state championship game. Sure, the Seahawks lost to Camden that night, 13-3, but the team's unprecedented run left etchings on the walls of Hilton Head High that are still present today.

"Nobody has made it back and we've been out of school for 20 years now," Frazier said. "And I watched my son (quarterback C.J. Frazier) go through it last year at Bluffton. It's a tough thing. It's something that I'm proud of, along with the guys I played with."

Twenty-two years later, Frazier will be properly honored for his efforts tonight, along with five others, as Hilton Head High inducts its latest class into the Seahawks' Hall of Fame. A pregame reception will be held before the group is introduced at halftime of Hilton Head High's region clash with Hanahan.

Former North Carolina tennis standout Andre Janasik, Western Carolina football star Eddie Cohen, three-sport athletes Angela Sampson Mullis and Otis Holmes, along with soccer coach Bo Sylvia, will join Frazier in this year's class.

"It feels good to know that we were appreciated for some of the things we did over there," Frazier said. "It was a good time. High school is a fond memory for me. It's just nice to be recognized. ... I feel a connection to the school that I haven't felt in a long time."

Janasik was part of a UNC team that captured the ACC Championship in 1990, where the former Seahawk served as a co-captain while taking part in No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Mullis, meanwhile, helped Hilton Head High take home state championships in the 4x400 and 4x100 relays in 1990 and 1991, respectively.

Holmes also took home state championships while with the Seahawks, as he earned a wrestling title in 1987 at 145 pounds. He also won state track crowns in the 800-meter and one-mile relays in 1986 and 1987, respectively.

Cohen holds the football team's single-season touchdown receptions record with 10 and was the school's last Shrine Bowl nominee before quarterback Michael Julian earned a spot this year. After earning all All-State selection in 2001, Cohen went on to being named an AP second-team All-American in 2007 after setting WCU's single-season receiving yards mark with 1,208 yards.

Sylvia, the only coach selected to this year's class, led the Seahawks soccer team from 1989-1995 and has compiled a career record of 623-337-38. He was a five-time region champion, four-time region coach of the year and coached his son, Brett Sylvia, to the state player of the year award in 1990. He also led the Seahawks to a pair of state quarterfinals and was the state coach of the year in 1993.

He came to Hilton Head High after three years at Hilton Head Prep, which he gives much of the credit to for his success in the Lowcountry.

"I've had so many phone calls and so many emails from as far away as Asia and Europe from young people that have seen this on Facebook," Sylvia said. "They've touched my life with so many kind compliments about what it meant for them to play for 'The Five' and Hilton Head High School."

Frazier, however, won't be in attendance tonight with his fellow inductees. Instead, he'll be across the bridge in Bluffton, watching his son quarterback the Bobcats against Fort Dorchester. The elder Frazier has never missed one of his son's games, he said.

"I expressed my gratitude to them, but I have never," missed a game, he said. "I coached C.J. in football, basketball and baseball ever since he was seven and I've never missed one of his games. This is our time."

The Seahawks understood that, he said. But they also plan on making sure he gets his proper spot in the limelight soon enough.

"They said they might be able to do something a little later on for me, maybe during a Bluffton-Hilton Head game," he said. "So me and C.J. can get booed."
