A man arrested in Florida has been named as a suspect in the armed robbery of a jewelry store last month at Tanger Outlet Centers in greater Bluffton, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Harold Dean Rogers, 46, of Pompano Beach, Fla., allegedly stole jewelry and cash totaling $100,000 on Sept. 19 from Ultra Diamonds.

Rogers also is wanted by authorities in Maryland and North Carolina for parole violations and other armed robberies, according to the release.

He was identified after he was arrested Sept. 28 in Deerfield Beach, Fla., by the Broward County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges. At the time of his arrest, Rogers was using the alias "Nicholas Lunsford," the release said.

Pending extradition, Rogers will face charges in Beaufort County of armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and grand larceny in the Ultra Diamond robbery. Local investigators say they are working with other agencies to recover stolen jewelry that might have been pawned in Florida.

The following reports were released Wednesday by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office:
