A 25-year-old Beaufort man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for stabbing a Ridgeland man to death during an argument over money in July 2011.
Jeremy Major pleaded guilty Monday to one count of voluntary manslaughter. Witnesses reported seeing Major stab Ricky Busby in the abdomen in Busby's carport on Fox Lane, according to 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office spokesman Daniel Brownstein.
Major must serve at least 17 years of the sentence, which was handed down by Judge Perry Buckner.
