Thank you to those who've helped during health scares

info@islandpacket.comOctober 15, 2012

This letter is to thank the doctors, nurses, staffs and volunteers who kindly, professionally and expertly cared for both my 93-year-old father and me during our recent health issues.

The emergency personnel who so efficiently whisked me to the emergency room in the middle of the night and transported my father twice from the Carolina House to the emergency room were not only kind but also extremely calm in the midst of the emergencies.

Beginning in mid-August to mid-September, one or both of us were in the emergency room four times, the Outpatient Center for scheduled surgery and the hospital surgical unit three times, (two of which were unscheduled). Several days were spent recuperating on the second floor of Hilton Head Hospital and the Broad Creek Care Center, where my father was able to receive expert rehabilitation. I would like also to pay tribute to staff members at the Carolina House for their concern, through phone calls, visits and a spirited welcome home at my father's return.

For a community of our size, we are indeed fortunate to have such an excellent quality of medical professionals and health care providers. Again, thanks to you from my entire family.
