Volunteers in Medicine Hilton Head Island would like to thank the Long Cove Club Community Endowment Fund for approving our recent grant request.

These funds will help us to purchase the Dragon Medical System, a voice recognition medical software tool that will offer our volunteer physicians and other health care providers a faster, more efficient way to create medical records and medical correspondence. The system will dramatically improve the cost and quality of health care that our volunteer medical professionals are able to provide.

VIM is getting ready to celebrate its 20th year of healing the medically underserved in our community. There continues to be a tremendous demand for our services; we witness it each and every day. Having had more than 34,000 patient visits this past year, the implementation of this medical system will give us the tools, technology and efficiency to continue providing high quality care to so many in need.
