October 10, 2012

A 19-year-old man was charged today with the murder of a man and woman found shot to death in May outside a car in Hardeeville.

Bernard Christopher Jenkins of Hardeeville was charged with two counts of murder after an investigation by Hardeeville police and SLED.

According to the arrest warrants, Jenkins killed Desmond Brown of Hardeeville and Octavia Scott of Bluffton, who were found dead May 11 outside a 2007 Infiniti on Purrysburg Road. Both were shot in the head.

The warrants said Jenkins was linked to the crimes by “witness statements and forensic DNA testing.”
