USC Beaufort senior Phyllis Langley was named the Sun Conference Women's Golfer of the Month on Monday.

Langley, a native of Canada, is off to a great start for the Sand Sharks this fall. She posted a personal-best round of 73 en route to a 45th-place finish in a field of mostly NCAA Division I golfers in the Great Smokies Intercollegiate, and she bettered that mark by two shots with a 71 while finishing 12th against mostly NCAA Division II players in the Lander Lady Bearcat Invitational.

Langley and the Sand Sharks are back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Charleston Southern Wendy's Invitational at Rivertowne Country Club in Charleston.
