Cobra Vector Control Pest Services held a grand opening for its Lady's Island store Oct. 1.

The business is owned by David Owen, a former Marine who has been practicing pest control in Beaufort County since 1997, according to a news release. He is a licensed, certified and insured applicator for the state of South Carolina. He recently returned from a civilian position in Afghanistan and decided to open his own pest control service, the release said.

The company specializes in small-animal trapping and exclusion work, as well as general pest control.
