Hilton Head man wins $200K from scratch-off lottery ticket

Published: October 8, 2012

A Hilton Head man has a friend to thank for his $200,000 lottery win. The winner admits he had no intention of playing until his friend coaxed him into taking the last Aces High ticket in the store's display. "Normally I'm stubborn, but for some reason I agreed and bought that ticket," he said. He stood outside the Enmark Station on Palmetto Bay Road to scratch the $10 ticket and was convinced his friend was playing a joke on him when the ticket revealed a $200,000 prize. His friend wasn't laughing. "I hope he doesn't feel too bad, because he could have bought the ticket," the winner said.
