The Heritage Library on Hilton Head Island will be the host of the lecture, "Clara Barton: Her Life and Times in the Lowcountry," at 2 p.m. Oct. 14.
Barton founded the American Red Cross in 1881. She visited Hilton Head Island twice: during the Civil War and again in 1893 after a hurricane devastated the Lowcountry, a library release said.
The Heritage Library is in Suite 2A at 852 William Hilton Parkway.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required: Call 843-686-6560.
