A 70-year-old Burton man died after being hit by a car Thursday night.

Jimmie Wilson was walking against traffic in the westbound lane of Joe Frazier Road around 10 p.m. when a 2008 Toyota pickup driven by Kahn Sejour, 28, of Beaufort hit him, according to the Highway Patrol.

Wilson was wearing dark clothing, according to Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen.

An autopsy Friday showed that Wilson died from being hit by the car, Allen said.

Sejour is not expected to face charges because pedestrians are supposed to walk on the shoulder of the road, Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins of Highway Patrol said.
