United Way chairman resigns; will seek CEO position

Longtime supporter Peter Post will serve as United Way of the Lowcountry's chairman after Sandra Chavez resigned Tuesday to seek the CEO position that will be vacated early next year. "It is an honor for me to serve the United Way of the Lowcountry in this role and to become even more involved in the activities we work so hard to support," Post said in a United Way news release. The board of directors, meeting Tuesday afternoon, agreed that Chavez — or any board member intent upon applying for the CEO job — should step down, according to the release.
