Online forum set for federal education waiver

Published: October 2, 2012

An online forum is planned for today on the state's waiver from some requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind law.

The waiver was approved July 19, and schools were rated using the new system -- which gives letter grades to schools based on their progress toward federal goals -- in early August.

The online meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the state department's website, www.ed.sc.gov/events/esea. The meeting will cover the implementation of the state's waiver, and the public can submit questions.
