Bluffton mayor urges completion of Wharf Street redevelopment project

Published: October 2, 2012

Bluffton Mayor Lisa Sulka urged town staff to complete the next Wharf Street homes lottery as soon as possible, and suggested the town's "standard operating procedures" might need to be revisited if delays continue. That comment followed an update from town staff that two applicants are awaiting final state approval to buy the homes, and a third person who participated in the initial lottery has dropped out. Sulka urged town staff to get the lottery for a new applicant done by the end of next week. Town staff also announced a new grant approved by Lowcountry Council of Governments for $142K in housing-repair funds.
