The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is searching for a teenager believed to have robbed a Lady's Island beauty-supply store at gunpoint Saturday.

Deputies were called at about 11:30 a.m. to Mechelle's Beauty and Supply, where an employee and customer said they had just been robbed, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

The teen entered the store, asked about a product and left. He later returned with a handgun and demanded money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, he ran toward Red Oak Street, according to the release.

No injuries were reported.

The culprit was described as black, 14 to 15 years old, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
