A group of Beaufort-area firefighters are again getting in touch with their feminine sides for a good cause this month. Firefighters from the Lady's Island-St. Helena Fire District will be donning bright pink T-shirts under their uniforms and equipment all month to help raise awareness for breast cancer as part of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an event founded 27 years ago to urge women to get annual mammograms. It is the second time in as many years that the firefighters have worn the pink shirts, and they were joined in their efforts last year by the Burton Fire District.
