The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of car break-ins in Bluffton's Edgefield development.

At least seven vehicles were broken into early this week, according to crime reports.

A gun and ammunition worth $315 was stolen from a car on Stoney Crossing, and camera equipment, electronics and car parts worth $3,300 were stolen from a vehicle on Live Oak Walk. Money, jewelry and electronics worth $350 were taken from another vehicle on Live Oak Walk.

In some cases, thieves stole nothing of value or items worth less than $100.

A sheriff's spokeswoman could not be reached Friday for comment on the break-ins.
