A man told authorities he was robbed at gunpoint Friday near the Yacht Cove area of Hilton Head Island.

The 33-year-old victim was smoking a cigarette at about 2 a.m. at the corner of Yacht Cove Drive and William Hilton Parkway when a dark sedan pulled up, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

The two men in the car asked for a cigarette, and the victim said he didn't have any more. A passenger pulled a handgun and demanded the victim's wallet, the release said.

The victim tossed his wallet into the car, and the robbers drove off. The victim was unharmed. He described the robbers only as males and could not provide further description of the car.
