Lander hosting Lady Bearcat Invitational this weekend at Old South

USC Beaufort among 12 teams in the field

Lander University is hosting the Lady Bearcat Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Old South Golf Links in Bluffton.

USC Beaufort is one of 12 women's college teams taking part in the two-day, 36-hole event. Play tees off at 8 a.m. each day.

In addition to the Sand Sharks and the Bearcats, the other teams taking part are Savannah's Armstrong Atlantic State, Carson-Newman, Coker, Columbus (Ga.) State, Flagler, Montevallo, North Georgia, Pfeiffer, Savannah College of Art and Design and West Georgia.

Four golfers in the field have area ties.

Hilton Head Island High product Rachel Uremovich is a junior at Lander, and West Georgia freshman Kate Alty of Toronto, Ontario is a graduate of the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy.

USCB sophomore Kendra Collins is a Bluffton High School product, while Sand Sharks freshman Samantha O'Donnell is a Hilton Head Island High product.
