Hargray completes Charter transition

Nearly 7,000 Beaufort-area cable customers formerly with Charter Communications have been fully switched to Hargray Communications' Internet, cable and telephone network, the company said Thursday.

Hargray acquired Charter's Beaufort cable system in May. The switch gives customers access to a faster, more reliable Internet network and allows them to bundle with other Hargray products, the company said.

Hargray, which is based on Hilton Head Island, says it will begin offering new residential data plans starting next month with faster upload and download speeds.
