The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office has released video surveillance footage in hopes of identifying a man who robbed a Bluffton jewelry store at gunpoint Sept. 19.

The man walked into Ultra Diamonds in Tanger Outlet Center 2 just before closing. Instead of paying for a necklace at the counter, he pulled out a handgun and demanded several other pieces of jewelry from a display case, as well as the contents of the cash register. He forced the two employees into a back room and fled.

The man is described as white, about 6-feet-4, 250 pounds, with a distinctive rash and severe acne on his chin. He was wearing a yellow-and-gray Polo tank top and several large diamond rings on each hand.

Anyone with information can call Cpl. D. Nelson at 843-255-3412 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
