Paper registration forms are available at Sun City fitness centers and major sponsor locations, including Hilton Head Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital, NHC of Bluffton and Carswell BBT Insurance.

The goal of the challenge is to encourage seniors to stay active and healthy. The focus of this year's games is to build community participation by partnering with neighbors in personal fitness routines. Leading the charge will be the 2012 torch bearers Viorica Hawley and her son, Wayne.

Opening ceremonies, including a parade of athletes, the torch lighting and opening remarks, will be held beginning at noon Oct. 19 in the Pinckney Hall Ballroom. Athletes will be able to pick up their participant bags and meet sponsors following the ceremonies. Winners will be awarded gold, silver or bronze medals. Closing ceremonies will be held at the Sun City Pavilion Nov. 1.

Volunteers are also needed to help guide athletes through the 61 Olympic-style events in 34 sports as well as help with traffic control, timing events posting results, hanging decorations and assisting with refreshments. To volunteer during BJAAC, call Lori Holland at 843-645-4515.
