Beaufort mayor urges residents to become more proactive in crime prevention

Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling is issuing a call to action for residents and business owners in Beaufort to become more proactive about preventing and reporting crime in their neighborhoods. Discussions about downtown cameras are expected to resurface. Instead of hiring more police and adding services, officials urge focus on education, awareness and increased reporting of both crimes and suspicious behavior.
