The Dolphins are on the wrong side of a numbers game and going the wrong way.
With several players already out with injuries and two players suspended, Hilton Head Prep (2-3) lost a couple more to injury in Friday night's 40-13 loss to previously winless Northwood Academy.
"The kids played hard," said Hilton Head Prep coach Kevin Wald, whose team finished the game with 14 healthy players. "They didn't quit. I thought we competed a little bit better than the score indicated."
Wald said Charlie Wilmot played a good game at quarterback despite being hurt.
"Charlie has a banged-up shoulder, but he was able to get through the game," Wald said.
Wilmot completed an 80-yard touchdown pass down the sideline to Logan Clark and rambled 10 yards for another score. He also had a 35-yard touchdown pass called back by penalty.
"I'm proud of our kids," Wald said. "They play hard, do their best and move forward. We'll get a couple back next week. "
