A new grant means one Bluffton-based organization can help homeless families find and afford a home more quickly. Family Promise of Beaufort County, which provides shelter for homeless families, recently received a $65,000, one-year grant from the S.C. Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. The money will be used for the organization's Rapid Rehousing program, which aims to help families settle into a new home as soon as they find employment.
