Island House/Mental Health America thankful for Caring Coins

Published: September 16, 2012

I want to thank the Caring Coins Foundation for its generous grant to Island House/Mental Health America. We know this is possible because of the generosity of Hargray customers who voluntarily round up their monthly bill, and the Caring Coins board of directors' desire to give back to the local community.

Island House is a rehabilitative psychosocial services day program for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. We serve clients from Beaufort and Jasper counties and depend on the generosity of our community to help us provide ongoing excellent service to our clients. Hargray's Caring Coins program has consistently been a generous resource for us.

We look forward to using the Caring Coins grant to maintain and enhance our kitchen and meal service to our clients.

It is through charitable grants and donations that we are able to keep our meal program going. Thank you for stepping beyond the focus of your business interests and investing in those around you.

Athena Whitlow, program director Island House Hilton Head Island
