Hilton Head Christian football team wins shootout at Northwood Academy

Brad Meccariello and Tyler Chisholm accounted for all but one of Hilton Head Christian's touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a win Friday night at Northwood Academy.

Chisholm had 14 carries for 105 yards. Meccariello had four catches for 115 yards and added a pair of scores on the ground.

Caleb Lewis was 11 for 14 passing for 171 yards and four touchdowns.

The Eagles (3-1 overall, 1-0 SCISAA Region 2-AA) led 32-10 at halftime and then started to play "sloppy," according to coach Tommy Lewis.

"I think we got a little bit comfortable," Coach Lewis said.

Jamario Williams had a 75-yard kickoff return for a TD to put the game on ice in the fourth quarter.

Zach McCutchen led the Hilton Head Christian defense with 10 tackles, two for a loss. JD Reichel had five passes broken up, and Reed Shindell made five tackles and recovered a fumble.

The Eagles return home Friday, hosting Savannah's Bethesda Day at 7 p.m.
