Next generation must build country's future

Published: September 15, 2012

A recent letter writer stated that the Democratic Party wasn't what it was back in his father's day. I have to say the same for the Republican Party.

I also have to admit that the world is different from that time. Those were not the "good old days" we seniors like to think about. I was born during the real Depression. My father was out of work for three years, and we lived with my paternal grandparents. Sound familiar? Anyone remember the WPA?

Yes, times are different, and we have a whole new generation of young people who can contribute to strengthening and nurturing of our country.

Our young people are being educated to excel in a world of challenge from every nation. Each generation finds its own way. We oldies are not able to judge what is right or wrong for them. Hold them in your prayers and let our Lord guide them into a future which they have to build themselves.
