About 150 people turned out Thursday in Old Town Bluffton for the opening of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's new mainland office.
The chamber's Bluffton office is now in a new building at the corner of May River and Bluffton roads
The chamber has had an office in Bluffton for more than a decade and previously operated out of space in Belfair Town Center.
"We were looking for a better, central location in the heart of Bluffton," chamber spokeswoman Charlie Clark said. "It's a great location. ... This was a place that we thought would put us in step with visitors, as well as what's happening in the Bluffton business community."
The chamber shares the building with Reclamation by Design, which joined in the ribbon-cutting Thursday.
The celebration coincided with the ribbon-cutting of the town's Tom Herbkersman Commons, a green space next door, named after the late brother of state Rep. Bill Herbkersman, R-Bluffton. The Herbkersman family donated the land for the small park.
