Beaufort National Cemetery seeks to preserve older trees

For the first time in nearly a decade, Beaufort National Cemetery is undergoing what officials there are calling a "major tree project." The work was to begin Monday and will involve about 300 trees on the property. The project, being performed by Southern Tree Services of Beaufort, is aimed at preserving or improving the health of older trees.
