Why do we coddle convicted felons?

Published: September 12, 2012

Our justice system is appalling. The sheriff locks them up, and the courts set them free.

When I read of released felons with multiple convictions conducting running gun battles in our neighborhoods and spraying fatal bullets into children playing in their own yards, I get furious.

What's going on in the United States? Is this Dodge City in the 19th century? Then I turn the page, and I read that a federal judge in New England has decided a government-paid transgender operation is required for an incarcerated murderer because the criminal's problem is "medical."

Courts feel taxpaying American citizens have a duty, under the Constitution, to treat these unworthy scabs of the underworld to lives normal law-abiding citizens can't afford. I am tired of hearing about criminals' rights and my requirement to protect their human rights. I think our Founding Fathers would say, "These convicted criminals have forfeited their rights."
