A shoplifter at the Mathews Drive Bi-Lo on Hilton Head Island attempted to steal a package of pork chops Sunday by sticking them down his pants, leading to his arrest, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

A security guard at the grocery store told deputies he followed the man because he was acting suspiciously. He saw the man pick up the pork chops, but lost sight of the package after the man turned a corner.

The security guard stopped the man, who removed the pork chops from his pants as deputies arrived. They were valued at $5.17, according to the report.
