HHCA football team puts it all together at Dorchester Academy

Six different players scored to lead the Eagles to victory.

DeAngelo Clark led the way, returning an interception 25 yards for a score and also scoring a rushing touchdown.

Tyler Chisholm had 12 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown, and Brad Meccariello had a 70-yard touchdown run. Alex Cooler had a 25-yard score.

Caleb Lewis was 5 of 8 passing for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns, one each to C.J. Evanofski and Jamario Williams. Evanofski finished with three catches for 58 yards.

Clark led the defense, recording six tackles, forcing a fumble, recovering a fumble and the interception return. Meccariello and Clay Oliver also had six tackles, with Oliver registering two tackles for loss. Reed Shindell had two sacks and forced a fumble for the Eagles (2-1).

"We just seemed to really put it together tonight on both sides of the ball," Hilton Head Christian coach Tommy Lewis said. "It was really encouraging to see the guys play the way they're capable of playing."

Hilton Head Christian opens region play Friday at Northwood Academy.
